The project Entrepreneurship across borders (in Swedish GREN – Gränsöverskridande Entreprenörskap) is an initative aimed at developing a concept whereby immigrants to Sweden are given the opportunity to start their own companies.
The ventures will be designed from the onset to be socially and financially sustainable, and will leverage the abundant experiences, competencies and expertise found within immigrant communities but which rarely come society to pass. Moreover, the ventures will be encouraged to connect back to the entrepreneur´s former home country, introducing an inclusive business aspect unique to entrepreneurship training.
The concept has been developed over the course of five months in 2015, in co-creation with Stadsdelsförvaltningen Angered, Utveckling Nordost and Röda Korset, and has been piloted in Angered. A concept designed to be scalable and replicable both nationally and internationally, the idea is currently being developed for implementation in Göteborg, Vänersborg, Malmö, Borås and Västerås, in 2016.
