Six of the world’s ten fastest-growing economies are in sub-Saharan Africa and Africa’s population is expected to double by 2050. The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Africa is approaching one billion, and in five years 70% of Africans are expected to have access to mobile broadband. To be part of and learn from the rapid development in Africa, and take advantage of business opportunities in African markets is becoming increasingly important to stay competitive. Yet many Swedish companies hesitate and find it challenging to enter and do business in Africa.
What is Go Africa?
Go Africa is an internationalisation program for Swedish SMEs that want to explore business opportunities in
sub-Saharan Africa. The program will run during 2016–2017. Go Africa aims to provide you with knowledge, inspiration, tools, network and support needed to successfully break into and do business in sub-Saharan Africa,
and to help you decide on how and where to take your business onto the African market. Go Africa is organized and led by STING in partnership with Inclusive Business Sweden, Swecare, SP and Swedish ICT, with funding from Tillväxtverket.
Who can participate?
All Swedish SMEs are welcome to join Go Africa. To take part in the program, you should be interested in exploring business opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa. You should ideally have a product on the market, with sales underway.
Participation in Part 2 of Go Africa should enjoy strong support from the board, and be part of the strategic development of the company. Each company should have two key people engaged, of which one should be the CEO. Click here to read more, and register for the programme.
