A month has passed since our project GREN (Entrepreneurship across borders) was officially launched, and the first meeting with the participants is now only a week away. The places are filling up fast, and so far fourteen participants have signed up to take part in the seven course meetings that will take place during the fall.
Many immigrants coming to Sweden have a long entrepreneurial background but might be unable to successfully transfer their knowledge to the Swedish business sector. The course is designed to meet these needs – to equip immigrants to Sweden with the knowledge and tools they might be missing to take their own entrepreneurial ideas to the next level. The overall aim of the project is to increase the opportunities for immigrants to Sweden to start their own businesses and thereby enable more effective integration processes. The project GREN is conducted in collaboration with the Swedish Red Cross and is meant to be scalable both nationally and internationally.
In the coming week we will finally prepare to meet the entrepreneurs. At the first session we will get to know the participants better and they will get to know us, while also discussing what inclusive business is.
The first session will be held at Utveckling Nordost at Kultivatorgatan 6 in Angered on the 15th of October. If you are interested in the project, please join our Facebook group or contact project manager Carolina Olson. Participating in the course is free.
If you are an immigrant to Sweden and want to join the course, there are still a few available. To sign up for the course, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The project is financed by Business Region Göteborg and Vinnova.
