On May 20, over 180 participants gathered in Stockholm to take part in this year’s Inclusive Business Forum. Hosted by Inclusive Business Sweden with the support of SP, LU Open Innovation Centre and Vinnova, the Forum attracted participants from business, government, civil society and academia for a full day of inspiration, co-creation and collaboration. After opening remarks from Ola Pettersson, Sida; Sylvia Schwaag Serger, Vinnova; and Per Eriksson, previously of Lund University and now chairing the Inclusive Business Co-creation Accelerator, the first keynote speaker Hans Rosling inspired the Forum not to be inspiring – but transpiring. Our second keynote speaker Iqbal Quadir urged participants of the Forum to innovate not just products, but also business models, to make products affordable and available, to the BoP.
The Forum also marked the launch of the Inclusive Business Co-creation Accelerator (IBCA) – our 3-year programme, which during 2015 will focus on building 6 sector-based alliances locally and building an ecosystem for inclusive business. A panel debate featuring entrepreneurs from Africa and Asia then discussed the winnings that can be had from co-creation between Sweden and developing countries. Following this, a mingle lunch during which 17 businesses showcased their innovations took place – and then the real work began as participants dived into sector-based workshops, outlining the what, the how, the where and the who of how we best co-create with the BoP.
The largest inclusive business-event in Sweden (with #inclbusinessforum2015 even trending on Twitter during the day!), participants and hosts alike enjoyed a great opportunity to network and discuss while providing some excellent input into the IBCA. Thank you so much to all who participated and we look forward to continue the discussions, the collaborations and co-creation with you in the years to come!
